| Anesthesia Associates of Southern Illinois works exclusively out of Heartland Regional Medical Center, a 92-bed facility in the heart of Marion, Illinois. Surgical volume at the hospital has increased substantially within the past year, with more than 7,000 major surgical procedures performed annually and 1,000 deliveries each year. With the establishment of a new cardiac surgery program, the hospital anticipates exceeding 100 heart surgery cases annually.
Anesthesia Associates of Southern Illinois performs all types of anesthesia. The surgical suite at the hospital comprises three general surgery rooms, one orthopedic surgery room, and one dedicated open-heart room. In addition, a separate area located just outside the surgical suite is dedicated to minor procedures and endoscopy cases. Supporting these areas is a 10-bed post-anesthesia recovery unit.
AASI offers a very competitive salary and benefits package. Starting salary is commensurate with training, experience and work history. Standard benefits in the employment package include six weeks of vacation, paid holidays, contributions to retirement plan, paid CME, malpractice, health, and disability insurance.
The City of Marion is conveniently located at the intersection of Interstate 57 and State Route 13 in southern Illinois. With Interstates I-64 and I-24 only minutes away, Marion offers access to several metropolitan areas such as St. Louis, Indianapolis and Nashville without the associated high costs of housing and living expenses.
Quality of life in Marion is excellent. Recreational and outdoor activities abound throughout the area and the city is considered the gateway to the Shawnee National Forest. Nearby Crab Orchard Wildlife Refuge encompasses 44,000 acres and boasts the largest man-made lake in Illinois.
