Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) – Locum Tenens Opportunity

We are seeking experienced CRNAs for a full-time locum opportunity within a Level II Trauma system. This role offers diverse case exposure, multiple practice settings, and flexible scheduling within a structured care team.

🕒 Schedule & Coverage

Start Date: May 25, 2026

Schedule Type: Primarily day shifts

Standard Schedule:

4x10s (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Flexibility Required:

Ability to work 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts

Mostly days with occasional night coverage as needed

Weekly Hours: 36–40 hours (full-time required)

Schedule Posted: 8 weeks in advance

Schedule Week: Sunday–Saturday

Early Start: One 7:00 AM early-in per 8-week schedule

☎️ Call Requirements

Call Model: Scheduled with optional beeper call

Call Expectation:

1 call shift per 8-week schedule

Weeknight (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) or weekend daytime call

Weekend Availability:

One weekend per month as needed

One weekend shift required during the contract term

Holiday Coverage:

One holiday shift required, scheduled based on department needs

🏥 Practice Environment

Supervision Model: 4:1

Trauma Level: Level II Trauma Center

Floating: Occasional floating between hospital and ambulatory settings

Pediatric Experience: Preferred

🩺 Clinical Practice Details

Case Mix Includes:

Heavy OB

Thoracic

EP and vascular

Cardiac (hearts and lungs)

Healthy pediatric dental/ENT

OB, ortho, GI, ENT

Exclusions: No transplant cases

Procedural Expectations:

CRNAs perform their own spinals and epidurals

Blocks are not guaranteed

✅ Required Experience & Skills

Minimum Experience: 2 years as a CRNA

Required:

Level II Trauma experience

OB and thoracic anesthesia experience

Proficiency in spinal and epidural placement and management

Preferred:

Pediatric experience

📋 Licensure & Certifications

Virginia license required at time of submittal (or actively in process)

AHA certifications required prior to start

📑 Credentialing

Timeframe: 90–120 days

Temporary privileges may be available depending on background review

✈️ Travel

Travel expenses are billable

Flights provided only for full-time providers and limited to one round trip

📌 Contract Details

Contract Length: 6 or 12 months preferred

Guaranteed Hours: 40–60 hours per week
